WORKSHOP
'Painting the World Around Us'
Aug 10 – 16, 2008
Sky, trees, fields, clouds, distance; everything that you love in nature... Express it from your heart on canvas in oils or acrylics. This course will take place "en plein air" (outdoors) and in the studio. Work from daily sketches and explore the creative use of composition, values, and color in paintings. There will be plenty of discussion and time for one-on-one feedback, emphasizing your unique perception and expression, while you complete at least two paintings. All levels welcome.

'Painting Celtic Symbols and the Landscape'

Let your imagination and your paintbrush soar as we welcome fall in the mountains and foothills of North Carolina while celebrating Celtic culture. Working primarily in acrylics, explore fascinating and rich Celtic patterns, incorporate them into your landscape paintings, illuminate the borders of your paintings with them, create your own designs from them, or simply enjoy the atmosphere and paint the beautiful landscape.
