Fisherwoman at Lake Wauberg
One morning I came upon this woman at the edge of a lake. The way she was sitting, the softness of her skin and the distant gaze in her eyes had me transfixed, so I introduced myself and asked if I could paint her. She was seated at the edge of the boat ramp fishing, so I had to set up my easel at the very edge of the water in the muck. Not knowing how long she would be there, I worked as quickly as I could. I was able to finish 70-75% of the painting before someone speeding back and forth in a motor boat started swamping me and made fishing useless for her. I finished in my studio!
