Simmons Bayou | |||
One morning, as I was driving towards Indian Pass, I glimpsed this scene with its stately pines and beautiful water flowing from the bay into the marsh. The colors had been softened by the smoke from the Florida fires and a boat was anchored just past the trees. Despite the heat and howling wind, I pulled off the road to paint. It was a challenging morning! Every time a vehicle would speed past it would send out hurricane force gusts causing me to hang onto my gear so it wouldn’t topple. Then a pin fell out of one tripod leg, causing it to collapse. I was close to finishing, so I learned how to juggle, attempting to keep everything upright while still being able to use my paint brush! | |||
