One morning as I was searching for a place to set up and paint I came upon this woman at the edge of a lake. The way she was sitting, the softness of her skin and the distant gaze in her eyes as she fished had me transfixed, so I introduced myuself and asked if I could paint her. She was seated at the edge of a sloping ramp, so I had to set up my easel in the muck at the edge of the water. I was able to get the painting roughed in before she left and then finished it in the studio.
